Push Inventory to the Optimal Retail Store or Sales Channel

JustEnough’s Allocation solution takes all the guesswork out of allocating products to locations. It uses allocation rules to model performance criteria to determine the best placement of stock. Taking current stock, inbound stock and need into account, the solution quickly allocates inventory to locations to maximize selling potential.

Stock can be pre-allocated to increase warehouse efficiency by enabling the cross-dock of stock on arrival. Additionally, configurable allocation rules allow for managing different phases of the product lifecycle including new products, ongoing and pushing out stock for end-of-life products.

Allocation Strategy

The Allocation Strategy screen is the main workflow screen within JustEnough Allocation. It requires inputs (default or user selected) from the other key components of the Allocation module (i.e. product model, location strategy, size curve selection), so that the user can define the holistic strategy which is then consumed by the allocation engine in order to produce the recommended orders to specified locations.

Within JustEnough Allocation, users can create demand-based allocation strategies so that stock can be pulled, as needed, over the product lifecycle based on actual and projected demand at the location level. As the demand changes, re-trending of demand automatically calculates subsequent allocations into the future. When it comes to locations, users have the flexibility to create location strategies (including product attribute-specific ones) prior to allocation, on the fly or have them inherited directly from the assortment plan. Additionally, JustEnough Allocation can support push-based allocation strategies to specified locations.

Product Model

JustEnough Allocation utilizes product models to index locations against each other in order to create location-level demand for an item. This enable users to think strategically about their allocations to stores and let the JustEnough Allocation engine do the intensive, in-depth analysis. Product models are built by defining a group of similar products with similar performance characteristics, during a similar time frame, in order to get the optimal output of the store indexing to properly break down the anticipated demand to the location level.

Size Curves

As part of the allocation strategy process, users can create and apply size curves to allocation strategies. Size curves are created by selecting a size range, filter of products to model against, historical timeframe and sales types (i.e.. regular, promotional, markdown). The calculation goes to the location level to determine the optimal size curve by location which is then applied to the allocation strategy. This part of the process enables users to think strategically about their allocations to locations and lets the JustEnough Allocation engine do the heavy lifting in determining the anticipated demand over a product’s lifecycle.

Allocation Product Groups

Product allocation groups can be used to allocate merchandise outside of the traditional hierarchical format. This allows for additional allocation strategies to be defined for unique requirements such as excess and/or clearance merchandise, specific merchandise collection groupings, etc. This alleviates the need for the users to create allocation strategies for this extraneous product on an individual item level. Grouping these products together allows for the user to easily associate allocation strategies with this specific type of product.

Rollup and Projections

Recommendations for stock, sales and future allocations are provided to users and projections can be rolled up to compare to plans and determine capacity constraints and estimate warehouse pick requirements. Inventory optimization as a result of allocation strategies and the concept of future recommended allocations based on projected demand leads to efficiency across the various departments of any retail organization. With JustEnough helping you efficiently review and approve your allocations, you’ll see reduced workload, reduced unnecessary spending and improved inventory turnover. All of this ultimately leads to increased ROI and improved service levels.
