Year in Review: A Message from JustEnough CEO Malcolm Buxton

2014 proved to be another exciting and successful year for JustEnough, our customers and the retail market in general. I always look forward to starting the New Year by sharing highlights of the previous year and looking forward to what we have planned and expect to see happen in the market in the coming year.

We were delighted to start the year by announcing that Forrester Research had recognized JustEnough as a leader in retail planning solutions in their annual The Forrester Wave™: Retail Planning Solutions, Q2 2014 report. This evaluative report was based on an in-depth analysis of the 10 most significant software providers of retail planning solutions and how they stack up. In addition, the report gave JustEnough the highest score in the strategy category. You can access a copy of the report here.

We also began the year by announcing that JustEnough entered into a Global ISV partnership with Microsoft Dynamics. The partnership will ensure that Microsoft Dynamics customers worldwide have access to innovative and advanced retail planning solutions.

In 2014, we welcomed a significant number of new customers worldwide, including: The Microsoft Store, Under Armour, 99 Cents Only Stores, Shopko, Beall's, Murdoch's and OSP Group in North America; NBTY and Clas Ohlson in Europe; Ideals and Cycle Lab in South Africa and Comvita in New Zealand. And a number of existing customers licensed additional JustEnough modules including Kathmandu in New Zealand. I invite you to view a video of the Kathmandu success story here.

Last year in my look back on 2013, I shared that we were finding promotions top of mind for retail executives. In response to the need for a modern promotion management offering, we launched our End-to-End Promotion Management solution and in 2014 we only saw the need for this type of solution continue to increase. We recently announced that Shopko, a $3 billion retailer that operates over 320 stores in 21 states across the U.S., has gone live with JustEnough Promotion Management to support its promotion planning and execution process. We also announced that NBTY Europe; a global manufacturer, marketer, distributor and retailer of vitamins and nutritional supplements; licensed JustEnough Promotion Management and is well into their implementation..

In response to the market's need for retail planning solutions that are quick to implement while still being flexible, accurate and automated, we launched our Essentials line of solutions. In 2014, we released the first solution – JustEnough Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) Essentials. The solution comes pre-configured with standard retail industry based metrics including sales, pricing, cost of goods sold, margin, receipts, on order, inventory, inventory turn and shrink - across both cost-based and retail-based accounting methods. Murdoch's is already in the process implementing MFP Essentials.

We have many exciting things planned across our product suite in 2015 including the release of Assortment Planning Essentials, Planogramming and a new Strategic Allocation module. Stay tuned for announcements of new product releases.

In closing, I thank our customers, partners and JustEnough team for making 2014 another amazing year. Your support pushes JustEnough to constantly innovate our solutions so that we can continue to uniquely solve today's demand problems and deliver value to leading retail, wholesale and direct-to-consumer businesses worldwide. We look forward to sharing trends and news with you throughout 2015.

New Customers

Under Armour is the originator of performance apparel - gear engineered to keep athletes cool, dry and light throughout the course of a game, practice or workout. The technology behind Under Armour's diverse product assortment for men, women and youth is complex, but the program for reaping the benefits is simple: wear HeatGear® when it's hot, ColdGear® when it's cold and AllSeasonGear® between the extremes. Under Armour's products are sold worldwide and are worn by athletes at all levels, from youth to professional, on playing fields around the globe, as well as by consumers with active lifestyles.

With Under Armour's expanding direct-to-consumer business, they needed the appropriate business processes and systems in place to manage the planning and execution for this growing business segment. Under Armour licensed JustEnough Demand Forecasting, Inventory Planning, Replenishment, Allocation, Merchandise Financial Planning, Assortment Planning and Profiling solutions

OSP Group is the preferred brand portfolio of women's and men's apparel and home products dedicated to plus sizes. Proprietary brands under the OSP Group umbrella include: Woman Within, Roaman's, Jessica London, fullbeauty, KingSize, BrylaneHom, BCO Bargain Catalog Outlet and OneStopPlus.com, an online marketplace featuring thousands of brands and products, the #1 destination to shop for plus sizes. Their brands represent a variety of lifestyles, providing a high level of quality, fit expertise and service at strong value price points.

OSP Group was seeking a solution to replace their spreadsheet-based planning and enable them to consolidate and implement a common business and planning process across all their brands. They selected the JustEnough Merchandise Financial Planning and Assortment Planning solutions.

From its humble beginnings 100 years ago, Ideals has grown from two stores in Durban to 64 stores across South Africa. The Ideals brand has developed a strong, clear position as a fashion value retailer offering quality, on-trend apparel, footwear and accessories for men, women and children.

Ideals has an aggressive growth strategy to more than double their existing number of stores. The Ideals executives realized that they could not implement this expansion program with outdated systems and processes. Ideals selected the JustEnough Merchandise Financial Planning, Allocation and Replenishment solutions to support their growth strategy.

Coming Back for More

Founded 25 years ago, Kathmandu has grown from a small retailer of clothing and equipment for travel and adventure, to a vertically integrated business with a significant retail presence in New Zealand and Australia. In 2012, the retailer selected JustEnough's Assortment and Item Planning solutions to improve its planning process. Following this successful implementation, Kathmandu decided to address its manual, Excel-based allocation and replenishment processes by implementing JustEnough's Demand Forecasting, Inventory Planning, Replenishment and Allocation modules.

Annual Merchandise Planning & Allocation Benchmark Survey by Boston Retail Partners

Consumers expect a fast and efficient purchasing and delivery process, where the physical and digital selling channels converge to provide a cohesive shopping experience. These unified commerce shopping concepts have grown significantly, requiring retailers to put more functional capabilities in place than ever before.

Surprisingly, 38% of participating retailers reported currently using a spreadsheet for planning and allocation. This illustrates that despite rapid technological developments of best-in-breed capabilities, a large number of retailers have been slow to adopt integrated solutions.

This year's survey results reveal that while there is movement in the right direction, there is still significant opportunity for retailers to evolve from a technological perspective. Please enjoy taking a look at the complete survey results and conclusions.
