Drive Customer Satisfaction and Revenue with Better Assortment Planning

In today's competitive environment, retailers live and die by the assortments they present to their customers and getting it wrong can spell disaster. Offering too few choices can result in losing customers due to a lack of fresh options, providing too large a range can result in insufficient assortment depth to provide customers with the sizes and quantities they desire and a lack of localization may drive customers away with irrelevant choices.

Presenting the best possible product assortment to customers that meets their needs and desires is the key to customer satisfaction and financial success. To reach these goals, many retailers are seeking ways to gain more control over their assortments from phase in to phase out and are looking to tightly integrate financial planning and open-to-buy (OTB) budgeting with the assortment planning process. This can be difficult as the assortment planning process is complex, bringing together many organizations, types of data and systems. Successful retailers are leveraging sophisticated assortment planning systems that bring these together in order to deliver plans that drive both revenue and margin.

JustEnough Assortment Planning removes the complexity from the process and marries the art with the science of planning. With JustEnough's integrated end-to-end retail planning solution; management, merchandisers, planners, buyers and allocators work together in one tool to build an integrated assortment plan which meets the financial objectives including revenue, margin and spend; while supporting customer demand for product choices.

The JustEnough solution offers users a fully integrated, feature-rich environment in which to effectively plan assortments. Key features of the solution include:

Smart Start - Uses sales profiles to quickly generate an assortment plan which can be easily refined by planners ensuring they can spend their time optimizing the assortment and not building the plan.

Graphical Displays - Allows for the flow of the assortment to be examined and adjusted as needed with key style cards displayed to users.

End-to-End Planning - Users plan the organization's financial objectives and immediately use those objectives to drive the assortment plan, allocations, promotions and markdowns.

Store Clustering and Localized Assortments - Groups stores based on combinations of plan, performance and store attributes so plans and assortments can be aligned with customer preferences.

Item Planning - Supports the in-season review and adjustment of the assortment providing the ability to adjust the trend of the plan.

Event Network (e/n) manages the retail gift shops on behalf of museums, zoos, aquariums, gardens, and other public cultural attractions. It designs and supplies stores with distinctive merchandise, such as apparel, toys and games, coffee mugs, key chains, jewelry, books and art. e/n's partner network includes more than 70 cultural attractions, including the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, the Gettysburg National Battlefield Museum, the Philadelphia Zoo and the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. It also operates the e-commerce websites of more than 55 attractions.

Event Network has operations in the US and Canada and is planning substantial growth in Europe. This expansion prompted e/n to look for new planning and execution systems to eliminate many of its manual, Excel-based processes. Event Network selected JustEnough's Merchandise Financial Planning, Assortment Planning, Profiling, Allocation, Demand Forecasting, Inventory Planning and Replenishment modules.
